PETERBOROUGH, Ontario – After searching for speed and coming up short the first couple events the Hawn Motorsports 2014 season, Tyler Hawn looks to have turned a corner for the better as he would post a sixth place feature finish at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday night.
Hawn made his 2014 debut at Barrie Speedway in June and while he entered with high hopes, it didn’t go as planned as he finished 10th. The same story, different verse was written for the Don Biederman Memorial at the end of June at Sunset Speedway.
However, small improvement was seen between the events so certainly there were some high hopes entering Peterborough. Hawn also had confidence, based on the solid performance that he was able to deliver there in 2013 with a seventh place finish in the Autumn Colors Classic feature.
After strong finishes in each of his heats, Hawn lined up poised for a strong run in the feature. Battling hard all 50 laps, Hawn kept himself steadily in contention throughout the night. The closing laps of the feature would see an impressive battle between Hawn and Rob Poole for the fifth spot. Unfortunately, Hawn would come up just short, posting a sixth place finish.
