BROOKLYN, Mich. (August 13, 2014) – The day does not end when the on-track activity concludes at Michigan International Speedway in August. Instead, the action moves to the Budweiser Party Porch in Turn Four where live music continues late into the night.
The Budweiser Party Porch is a respite area and hang-out at the track, all overlooking Turn Four. It is open all day and most of the night.
“The Budweiser Party Porch has turned in a must-stop area since it opened in 2012,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “The crowds have continued to grow and we only expect to see more fans take advantage of this area. It has turned into a great area to enjoy the on-track activities during the day and then enjoy live music overlooking the fastest track in NASCAR at night. We are happy to have Tim Dugger on both Friday and Saturday nights.”
On Friday, the porch opens at 10 a.m. and guests are invited to watch Bandit Chippers Pole Day from Turn Four as the drivers try to find that last bid of speed.
Beginning at 7 p.m. you will have the opportunity to dunk Curtis and David Ragan, driver of the No. 34 CSX “Play It Safe” Ford. They will be sitting in the dunk tank from 7-8 p.m. as fans can take their best shot to knock them off the ledge. You can purchase three throws for $10 and all proceeds go to MIS Cares. Now is your chance to sink the track president and a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver while contributing to charity in the process.
Fans are invited to enjoy the great Budweiser specials while trying to dunk Curtis. You can purchase an eight-ounce Budweiser for just $1 on Friday from 7-8 p.m. only.
The Budweiser Party Porch will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday for a full-day of activities on the track.
Guests to the Budweiser Party Porch on both Friday and Saturday will be entertained by rising country music artist Tim Dugger, who will play from 8-11 p.m. both nights. A diehard NASCAR fan, racing and music are in his blood. Dugger’s ability to command attention with his own special brand of music and onstage charisma allowed him to develop a large following. He has performed to sell-out crowds in Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
Patrons will also have the opportunity to take pictures with the Bud Girls as well as receive promotional giveaways.
The patio includes concession and merchandise stands, as well as a full bar. Plus, there will be umbrella-covered picnic tables for fans to sit and relax during the day.
The Turn Four Patio is for guests of all ages before and during the race.
After the race, the Budweiser Party Porch is a cool hang-out for the speedway’s camping guests 21 and older. The age restrictions will be enforced about one hour after the race.
Shuttle Services will be available on Friday and Saturday nights to and from select MIS campgrounds during evening hours only. The shuttle will run from approximately 7 p.m. – midnight on both nights depending on the campground. Details will be posted inside each of the campground entrances offering shuttles.
