(Grand Bend ON) In recent years, the most anticipated event on the Grand Bend Speedway schedule was the date that included the fastest, and loudest racing touring division that takes on the Bull Ring By the Beach, the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midget Club. The2014 edition of this anticipated event is this coming Saturday August 23, 2014.
By far, the shortest and tightest track that the club competes on, Grand Bend Speedway can be a challenge to get a hold of. 3 time Grand Bend Speedway winner Mack Deman is one of the few drivers who have found the edge in car preparation and set up for this tricky race track.
Deman wouldn’t give away any trade secrets, but did say there is a significant amount of changes to the car in set up as this track is not like any they ever go to.
When asked what makes racing at Grand Bend so challenging, Deman says, “The tight corners, and the track doesn’t have late models or other cars with lots of rubber, so the track feels different than most.” The Grand Bend Speedway weekly divisions will be on hand, but their racing rubber does not lay down any significant rubber to affect the level of grip for the Can-Am Midgets.
Mack Deman says to the key to having a successful night at Grand Bend Speedway is getting forward bite out or the corners and staying out of trouble, it’s tight out there and things happen fast.
The night of racing will include the weekly divisions including the OK Tire (London South) Jr B Micro Sprints, Tommy’s Motors Jr A Micro Sprints, Broadway Service JLM, and the Mike & Terri’s NoFrills JCAR Mini Trucks.
