After Missing the 2013 NNS Race at AMS, McClure is Looking Forward to Saturday Night’s Event at AMS

McClure Eager to Race at AMS: After posting a 20th-place finish in last weekend’s event at BMS, Eric McClure is eager to get back behind the wheel of the No. 14 Camry for this weekend’s Great Clips 300 to benefit Feed the Children at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  This weekend will mark the 35-year-old’s seventh start at the 1.5-mile track.  In six starts, McClure has been running at the end of four events and he earned his best finish (21st) during the 2012 season.

McClure’s thoughts on Atlanta: “Atlanta is a fun racetrack. We had strong outings the past two races I competed there, but good finishes were spoiled by incidents. After sitting out last season’s race at AMS, I’m looking forward to getting down there and getting started in our Hefty® Ultimate™/Reynolds Wrap® car.”

No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry: The Hefty(R)/Reynolds Wrap(R) team will utilize chassis No. 677 for this weekend’s Great Clips 300 to benefit Feed the Children at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  This chassis was last used at Indianapolis Motor Speedway where the team posted a 36th-place finish as a result of a power steering pump failure.

Fun Fact: It’s not new news that McClure is an avid sports fan, especially when it comes to college football.  With opening kickoff for the 2014 season taking place on Thursday night, you will find McClure glued to his TV and phone watching all games and keeping up with every team’s statistics when he isn’t on the track at AMS.  His beloved Virginia Cavaliers will hit the field on Saturday against UCLA at 12:00pm.

• McClure missed the 2013 NNS race at AMS because of a kidney failure diagnosis two weeks prior.
