Scott went to Flamboro Speedway while Samantha, Billy and Jake headed to Sunset Speedway for the final, regular series points night of racing. Only small adjustments were required on Sam and Jake’s car and although Billy’s car was handling perfectly as it came off the trailer, he did notice a lack of brakes and a slight squeal from the front end. The crew went to work looking at the brakes and decided to replace the badly worn front brake pads for the final practice session.
Sunset Speedway: Billy started on the outside pole, beside the #72 in the first heat race, and after running side by side for a lap and a half, Billy moved into the lead. The #86 and #72 pulled away from the field and although the #72 got a look inside the #86 on the final lap, Billy would hang on for the win. Samantha and Jake lined up in the same heat race with Jake starting 2nd and Samantha in 6th. Sam moved up to 4th, then at half way, she followed the #20 as he moved inside of Jake to take over 2nd with Samantha 3rd and Jake now 4th. On the final lap, Samantha took over 2nd from the #20 and Jake finished 4th. All three Spira-Lucas Oil sponsored cars lined up for the dash for cash with Billy starting on the pole, Samantha 5th and Jake 11th. On the 6th lap, the points leader got to the inside of the #86 and after some side by side racing, it was the #64 who crossed the line first with Billy on his tail as Samantha crossed the line in 5th and Jake in 10th. After a brief delay for a light rain, 26 cars lined up for the 35 lap feature with Samantha lining up 2nd, Jake 3rd and Billy 9th. Sam quickly made it to the front of the field as Billy gained five positions, taking over 4th from Jake before the caution came out for Jake getting tagged from behind and spinning out in the centre of turns one and two. Samantha led the field to the green as Billy quickly moved in behind her in 2nd with Jake starting back in 25th. Samantha and Billy had their hands full with lapped traffic as they started into the 10th lap. Jake moved up throughout the feature to finish 10th as Samantha dodged her way through lapped traffic with Billy on her tail. As Samantha entered turn three with the laps ticking down, she was forced down low, where the #86 was trying to get a run, and after minor contact, the two Spira cars continued to the checkered flag with Samantha getting the win, followed by Billy in 2nd and Jake in 10th. With the win, Samantha also clinched second in points in a very competitive field at speedway.
Flamboro Speedway: Scotts car was very loose throughout the two practice sessions, and a stagger change was made to tighten up the car prior to the first of two heat races. In the 1st heat, Scott started 2nd beside the #97, however the #97 powered by him along with the #71 and #13, putting the #44 quickly back to 4th. The car remained very loose but Scott managed to hang onto 4th throughout the remainder of the race. The crew made a sway bar adjustment to tighten up the car and Scott lined up 7th in the 9 car field. Scott was able to move up to 4th where he finished behind the #13, #71 and #97. A spring rubber was added to the left rear spring in an attempt to continue to tighten up the loose race car and the #44 lined up to start 17th for the feature in a 22 car field. After a caution and complete restart due to the #37 spinning out and hitting the wall before a lap was completed, the race went from green to checkered with Scott moving up to 5th with just one lap remaining. The #72 got into the #71 on the final lap and as the #71 was spinning up the track, Scott ran tight to the outside
wall and after narrowly missing the #71, gained a position to finish 4th.
