NASCAR announced on Wednesday that Chris Rice has been suspended through Sept. 24th from competition as a result of a rule violation that occurred this past weekend at Chicagoland Speedway.
Rice violated section 21-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 20B-12.8 (Truck failed to meet post-race body height/ground clearance requirements of the 2014 NASCAR rule book) with the No. 20 truck driven by Austin Dillon at Chicagoland Speedway. Rice was already under probation following a Nationwide Series rules violation earlier this year at Bristol Motor Speedway as a crew chief for James Busecher. NASCAR also announced that Rice was fined $7,500 and is on probation till the end of the year.
