NCWTS Crew Chief Chris Rice suspended following NCWTS rule violation at Chicagoland

NASCAR announced on Wednesday that Chris Rice has been suspended through Sept. 24th from competition as a result of a rule violation that occurred this past weekend at Chicagoland Speedway.

Rice violated section 21-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 20B-12.8 (Truck failed to meet post-race body height/ground clearance requirements of the 2014 NASCAR rule book) with the No. 20 truck driven by Austin Dillon at Chicagoland Speedway. Rice was already under probation following a Nationwide Series rules violation earlier this year at Bristol Motor Speedway as a crew chief for James Busecher. NASCAR also announced that Rice was fined $7,500 and is on probation till the end of the year.

Bob Newberry, owner of the No. 20 truck, has been penalized with the loss of 10 series championship owner points.
