(Mooresvillle, NC – September 30, 2014) Charles (CJ) Evans Jr. will make his first ARCA Racing Series start since 2013 with Team BCR Racing this Friday at Kansas Speedway for the Kansas Lottery 98.9. Evans will be behind the wheel of the No. 88 Elevator Transportation Services, ACCI Ford Fusion.
Although Evans has not driven in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards since 2013, doesn’t mean he still isn’t actively involved in the racing community. Evans is the current points leader in the NASCAR BWFS Truck Series at Houston Motorsports Park in Texas with only two races left to go.
Friday’s Kansas Lottery 98.9 will mark Evan’s Kansas race debut, although Team BCR and Evans tested at the mile-and-a-half track back in 2011.
“I’m really looking forward to going back to Kansas Speedway,” stated Evans. “Last time we were there, we had a really fast car. I’m very excited to work with Howard (Bixman) and the whole BCR team again. We’ve had top-ten runs together and with the amount of winning success the team has had in 2014, I feel that we will be very competitive.”
Team BCR Manager, Howard Bixman is pleased to have Evans back in the car again.
“We’re very excited to reunite with CJ,” says Bixman, who will also serve as CJ Evan’s Crew Chief this weekend. “He’s a very talented driver with great ability. CJ has focused on his NASCAR series career in Texas this year, competing for the Championship. Currently the points leader and having a number of wins in 2014 has definitely proven that he belongs in the ARCA Racing Series in order to take the next step in his racing career. Not only has CJ had success on the track, but his engineering background has complemented his talent as a driver, resulting in a Championship run in 2014.”
The ARCA Racing Series’ season finale race at Kansas Speedway will be broadcasted live on October 3, 2014 on Fox Sports 2 at 7:30pm CT. One practice session will take place from 9-10:50am on Friday and Menard’s Pole Qualifying will kick off at 1:35pm CT.
Come meet Team BCR’s drivers, Charles Evans Jr. and John Lowinski-Loh near the fan walk stage behind the media center at 3:30pm on Friday, October 3! Team BCR’s drivers and the rest of the ARCA Racing Series drivers will be signing autographs.
