Earlier this week, it was announced that Bobby Labonte will run the restrictor plate races for GoFas Racing. The team’s line-up has been further confirmed as BDN Maine spoke with GoFas Racing co-owner Archie St. Hilaire, who confirmed the team will have Boris Said behind the wheel of their No. 32 Ford for the pair of road course events.
“I would rather have one driver for the whole season but Bobby didn’t want to commit for the whole year and Boris just does road courses. [Having a lot of drivers] works for us, money-wise,” St. Hilaire told BDN. “We’re already much further ahead of where we were at this time last year,” said Mason St. Hilaire, referring to sponsor and driver interest. Drivers will bring sponsorship money with them.”
Said, a road course specialist, has been brought in by teams in the past to run the road course events to gain them the maximum points. He would finish 25th at Watkin’s Glen and 35th at Sonoma Raceway last year.
St. Hilaire also spoke of the possibility of putting Austin Theriault behind the wheel for a couple of races this year. Theriault ran a couple of Nationwide Series races last year for JR Motorsports.
