On Friday, January 9th, NEMCO Motorsports announced that they will run Chevrolet Silverados in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for the 2015 season.
“We look forward to joining the Chevrolet NASCAR program this season,” Joe Nemechek said. “I’ve had a long-term relationship with Chevrolet for the majority of my career and I look forward to continuing that relationship.”
Joe Nemechek competed in Chevrolets from 1991 to 2001 through NASCAR’s top three touring series, earning 18 victories. The veteran driver will share driving duties with his son John Hunter Nemechek behind the wheel of the No. 8 SWM-NEMCO Motorsports Chevrolet. Once John turns 18-years-old, the young man plans on running the remainder of the schedule fully, beginning at Kentucky Speedway on July 9th.
NEMCO Motorsports also announced that the manufacture switch will see them use ECR Engines for the 2015 season.
“This is a big step for our team and I look forward to working with Chevrolet and the guys at ECR Engines for a competitive season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series,” John Hunter Nemechek said. “I have never worked with them (ECR Engines) before, but I look forward to building a relationship with them and running up front in 2015.”
NEMCO Motorsports added that their late model program will also feature Chevrolets beginning this year.
