Jake Griffin Racing announced on Wednesday, January 14th that 16-year-old Jake Griffin will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Martinsville Speedway in March behind the wheel of the No. 63 Chevrolet Silverado for MB Motorsports.
In 2013, Griffin made NASCAR history by becoming the youngest driver ever to win a NASCAR sanctioned event at the age of 14.
“Words can’t describe how excited I am for this opportunity,” Griffin said. “It’s been my dream since I was a small child to compete in the NASCAR ranks. I can’t thank MB Motorsports enough for giving me this opportunity. I plan to do everything within my ability to capitalize on the opportunity.”
Owned by the Mittler Brothers, MB Motorsports is the oldest team in the NCWTS, having had drivers in their trucks since the inaugural season in 1995.
The teenager is currently seeking sponsorship to enter more truck events this season, while preparing his Dirt Modified to compete in the DIRTCar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) in early February.
