In the final practice for the NextEra Energy Resources 250, Johnny Sauter would top the charts with a lap of 47.215 seconds. Sauter returns to ThorSport Racing this year, searching for his first NASCAR championship.
He would be followed by his new teammate Cameron Hayley, who is looking to win the Sonoco Rookie of the Year Award after making three starts last year. Hayley has had success at Daytona before, winning the inaugural Battle of the Beach event.
Brad Keselowski Racing rookie Austin Theriault would time in third quickest, followed by Ty Dillon and Spencer Gallagher.
Cody Ware was sixth quickest, followed by Bryan Silas, Tyler Young, Joe Nemechek and Daniel Saurez.

Beyond her love of short track racing, she also has grown an interest for both NASCAR and the IndyCar Racing Series. She also enjoys taking photos and working on websites, while playing a couple rounds of Candy Crush afterwards.
