NASCAR has announced that four teams are scheduled to take part in a Goodyear tire test on Tuesday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Those teams are Hendrick Motorsports (Kasey Kahne), Furniture Row Racing (Martin Truex Jr.), Richard Petty Motorsports (Aric Almirola) and BK Racing (JJ Yeley). This session was closed to the public.
There will also be a open test this week at Charlotte Motor Speedway, set to take place on Wednesday. Each team is allowed to send one driver to the test. Per speedway officials, it looks as though Kahne, Almirola, Truex, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Jamie McMurray, Denny Hamlin, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Clint Bowyer and Michael McDowell are scheduled to take part. Fans are welcome to take in the action, with gates opening at 9 a.m. EST. Testing is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon ET and from 1-5 p.m. ET.
Following the Charlotte test, there will be no more Goodyear tire tests till April 7-8 at Richmond International Raceway, which will feature Stewart-Haas Racing, JTG Daugherty, Team Penske and Joe Gibbs Racing. Tire tests are also scheduled for April 13-15 at Kentucky Speedway and April 27-29 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
