Canadian Eyewear Brand Backs Toronto Racer
Toronto, Ontario (May 08, 2015) – Luke Chudleigh is pleased to announce today a new partnership with Canadian eyewear brand, Bôhten. The relationship will not only see Chudleigh (20) sport Bôhten sunglasses around the racing paddocks of Europe competing in Formula Renault 2.0, but the company will also enjoy branding on his race car and driver overalls and utilize the Toronto racer in its promotional materials.
Bôhten was founded in Canada by Nana Boateng Osei with the initiative to use reclaimed material to manufacture an eco-luxury eyewear line. Drawing inspiration from his Ghanaian roots, Bôhten’s manufacturing process starts with reclaimed wood from the heart of West Africa. The lightweight eyeglasses are designed in Canada and beautifully handcrafted in a zero-waste facility.
“I’m thrilled to be working with an entrepreneur like Nana and to be associated with such a progressive brand like Bôhten,” stated Chudleigh, who competes for Fortec Motorsports in Europe this season. “I’m a fan of the company’s innovation and social responsibility but the thing that stood out to me most was just how fashionable their sunglasses are. It’s a very distinctive look!
“I love the fact that I can represent a Canadian company through my racing program and I’ve already had a blast at my first photo-shoot for Bôhten. It’s definitely a thrill to be used in their marketing initiatives and I’m proud to be an ambassador for the brand and to represent them both on and off track.”
“We’re excited to venture into a partnership supporting Luke and use his racing endeavors to spread our brand message,” commented Bôhten founder, Nana Osei. “He’s not only a fantastic and enthusiastic spokesperson for us but Luke’s also representative of our demographics with the brand appealing to young, fashion-forward and socially conscious individuals.
“We’re proudly Canadian as a company but we’re looking to make global change through the power of social entrepreneurship, education and responsible manufacturing. Luke’s racing activities help us take that message to a wider audience while at the same time providing a lifestyle-backdrop that’s fitting for a fashionable eyewear brand.”
Bôhten’s mission is ultimately to create a zero-waste eyewear facility in Ghana to cater to the African market. In the meantime its focus is to develop a sustainable manufacturing process in Canada to generate fair paying educational jobs globally.
Designing and manufacturing innovative and sustainable products has already put Bôhten on the map and its slogan ‘Vision of Change’, encapsulates its blue-print for its processes.
