Red Horse Racing announced today that the No. 17 Toyota Tundra driven by Timothy Peters will be sponsored by Gaunt Collision Centres for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Sunday, August 30, 2015.
Gaunt Collision Centres is a family business with 30 years of experience specializing in automotive body repair owned by Marty and John Gaunt in Barrie, Ontario. The brothers Gaunt grew up around short track racing in Canada and have maintained a close connection to the sport.
Marty is president of Triad Racing Technologies, which successfully builds racing engines and is a primary vendor for Toyota Racing Development in NASCAR. Triad has helped its clients win seven manufacturer championships, five driver championships, and over 100 victories since 2004. Over the years, Marty has owned and entered trucks in the NCWTS; he has sponsored trucks in the series; and, has become a premier engine builder. In short, he is considered one of the series’ biggest supporters.
Peters, who turns 35 on Saturday, is in his seventh full-time NCWTS season and is currently seventh in points with two top-5 and eight top-10 finishes this season.
“I am grateful and excited that Gaunt Collision Centres will be on our No. 17 Tundra at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park,” said Peters. “Having Marty’s engine under the hood and his family’s business on the truck I know we’ll go fast and be representing the local Toronto area.”
Team owner Tom DeLoach and Marty enjoy a long and successful relationship that goes back to the beginning of Red Horse Racing. In 2005, DeLoach partnered with Marty to create the team.
“Marty Gaunt has been a friend, business partner and vendor of mine for a very long time,” said DeLoach. “This week, Red Horse Racing is working especially hard for a victory at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in the Gaunt brothers’ backyard.”
