When Jeb Burton takes to the track next weekend at Darlington Raceway, a lot of fans will recognize the look of his entry for BK Racing.
BK Racing announced earlier this week that Burton’s entry for the Southern 500 will pay tribute to his father Ward Burton, who is a two-time Darlington Raceway winner.
“I saw all the throwback stuff and Estes has the same colors as Dad had, so I just thought about the idea and I got the PR team to come up with a design,” Burton said “I saw it and I thought it’d be a cool idea so we went on with it.”
Jeb’s paint scheme with sponsor Estes Trucking will carry the familiar colors that Ward ran on the No. 22 at Bill Davis Racing from 1999-2003. During those years, Ward won the Daytona 500 in 2012.
“It’s really cool,” the older Burton said. “We had a lot of success at Darlington, but more importantly I really appreciate Jeb thinking about me.”
