As a rookie in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, David Levine has already competed at 14 tracks that he had never seen before this year. Of all the new tracks he has faced, the Highland Park, IL driver has had the most success on ovals that are a mile and a half or longer. Since just missing a top ten finish at the 2.66 mile Talladega Superspeedway (11th), David has scored top ten finishes in his last four starts at 1.5 mile and longer tracks.
He tallied an 8th place finish at Pocono in June, followed by 7th at Michigan and 9th at Chicagoland. He enters Friday night’s Crosley Brands 150 at the 1.5 mile Kentucky Speedway after his career-tying best finish of 6th at the most recent race on a 1.5-mile-plus track, the August race at Pocono.
David, who participated in the ARCA Series open test session on Tuesday, is currently 5th in the ARCA Racing Series driver points standings. He leads the Scott Rookie Challenge points standings, and has won two CGS Imaging Hard Charger awards and one Scott Rookie of the Race award thus far this year.
David Levine on Kentucky Speedway: “The test at Kentucky Speedway went well, but that place is rough. We were able to try all the new things we wanted to test, then we worked on long run pace. We were a little off where we want to be, but we picked up time each time we went out. I can’t thank Lira Motorsports, MOMO and Traqgear enough for getting us where we are. Top 5 in overall points and leading rookie of the year heading into the last two races of the year. We’ll keep pushing until the checkered flag at Kansas.”
The Crosley Brands 150 will be live on Fox Sports 1 on Friday, September 25th beginning at 8:00pm. Additionally, ARCARacing.com will have live timing and scoring for all on-track activity.
On-track schedule: The ARCA Racing Series drivers will have practice from 12:30-2:00pm. Menards Pole Qualifying Presented by Ansell will start at 4:40pm. The green flag for the Crosley Brands 150 is scheduled for 8:00pm. The race is 150 miles (100 laps).
