Battling an ill-handling car throughout the 75-lap feature, Rick Walt would battle hard throughout the entire event en route to a top-15 finish at Sunset Speedway.
Walt started off the weekend by finishing sixth and third in his pair of heats on Saturday to set him up for Sunday’s feature.
Starting 13th for the main event, Walt would slip back in the early going, running 17th as of lap 51. Though as the race closed out, he kept battling back strong, and crossed the finish line in the 15th spot.
With the final event of the season in the books for Sunset Speedway, Walt closes out the year with six top-fives and eight top-10s.
Walt will now turn his focus back to Peterborough Speedway and the Autumn Colors Classic. With a victory in the Chase for the Colors event earlier this year, he will start the prestigious event on the pole. Details about the weekend-long event can be found at http://www.peterboroughspeedway.com.
