Following a successful season at Flamboro Speedway, Hudson Nagy is set to have a strong run this weekend at the Autumn Colors Classic at Peterborough Speedway.
“It’s going to be tough,” he admitted. “There’s a lot of good racers coming from everywhere to race. We’re hoping to not wreck.”
Nagy had a successful sophomore season at Flamboro Speedway, picking up a couple feature wins behind the wheel of his No. 36 Retail Design Group, Pure Energy Performance Incorporated, Jamco Automotive and Town Tire & Auto Mustang en route to a second place finish in points.
“A lot of it was the team,” the youngster stated. “They’ve been with me the whole time throughout my racing career and I couldn’t do without them. They’re at the track every night and if I break down, they’re the ones that are there to help me out. The only reason that we came anywhere close is because if I got a flat or anything else, they were there to change it and get me back out on the track. It just happened that way and I was able to finish alright.”
Now entering his second Autumn Colors Classic, Nagy is hoping to improve on his 20th place finish from last year.
Once this season is complete, though, it seems that change is on the horizon as Nagy will be moving up to the Thunder Car division in 2015, recently purchasing one of the front running cars at Flamboro.
“It’s going to be different re-learning everything else and also gonna be a huge learning curve,” he commented. “But also going to be fun and we’re going to do our best.”
With tons of talent behind the wheel and change on the horizon, Nagy will be one to watch in the years to come.
