ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO … “If today is any indication of what we’ll see in 2016 … it’s going to be an incredible season,” said Bicknell Racing Products’ Bob Slack during the 2016 Open House Saturday January 16th at the St. Catharines Retail and Manufacturing Headquarters.
Approximately 120 drivers competing in all forms of the Sport – from 4 Cylinder, Truck, Street Stock, Mod Lite and Late Model to Sportsman, 358 and Big Block Modified Divisions from two provinces and 4 states were among the more than 400 that attended the day-long event that featured Free Seminars, sale prices and Free Giveaways.
Todd Root of Warners NY took home the most in winning the 2016 BRP Option 1 Chassis valued at $3,650. Root is a DIRTcar Sportsman Competitor at the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways in Central New York.
“Customer service is always a priority … whether it’s during the off season or week in and week out at the race track,” added Slack, “thanks to everyone that attended – we hope that everyone was able to take away something … thanks to all of our suppliers that provided us with some great giveaways as well.”
Rob Pietz, Dan Wurster, Chris Hile, Josh Sliter, John Morse, Jason Fontaine, Dave Conant, Dave Flannigan Jr., Kyle Kiehn and Bill Bleich also won prizes donated by Fox Shocks, Kirkey Racing Fabrication, Bert Transmission, Trick Race Parts, Integra Racing Shocks, Pat’s Radiator, Champion Oil, Inside Track Motorsport News and BRP.
An informational session on the new Wegner Motorsports W16 358 Modified Motor led off the seminars that also featured Rich Mathies of Champion Oil, Mike Walton and Bruce Harwood of Fastline Performance and BRP Shock Specialist Ted Curvin in a Fox Shocks Seminar.
Curvin and Slack were joined by Pete Bicknell as well as veteran Car Owner and Shock Specialist Mike Payne. Pennsylannia veteran and 2015 Woodhull Raceway Champion Billy Van Pelt and 2015 Ransomville Speedway 358 Modified Champion Ryan Susice were late additions to a Q&A Session.
“Unfortunately Gary Tompkins and Matt Sheppard were late scratches but in the end it was great to hear of Billy and Ryan’s experiences,” said BRP’s Randy Williamson, “especially Ryan … he’s competed in Sportsman, 358 and Big Block Modifieds in addition to TQ Midgets and Sprint Cars.”
“In looking ahead to next year’s Open House – simply … our Seminars have outgrown our facilities,” informed Slack, “the challenge for us is on to come up with a solution for next year. When you combine the 200 chairs and almost another 50 in standing room … we definitely have to make it more comfortable for our guests.”
The pace doesn’t slow down for Bicknell Racing Products which will be part of the 2016 Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Racecar and Trade Show January 22nd to 24th at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Centre in Oaks, PA.
