Presenting sponsor of the Short Track & Drag Racing Night of Champions
TORONTO, ON // FEBRUARY 16, 2016 • “It’s a real coincidence, but our first day operating under the Stoneridge Specialty Insurance banner was also the first day of the inaugural Motorama show,” laughed Account Representative Kory Besta. “Motorama 2015 was our company’s unveiling!”
To celebrate their first anniversary, Stoneridge Specialty Insurance will return to the 2nd Annual Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo Presented by Mothers, not only as a vendor, but also as the presenting sponsor of the Short Track and Drag Racing Night of Champions, which takes place on the night of Saturday, March 12 at the show.
“Obviously, from a business point of view, the Motorama show allows us to connect with a broad range of potential clients. And the melding of the custom car and the motorsports show offers us twice the opportunity,” continued Besta. “As fans of the hobby, being able to contribute to the Night of Champions is our way of giving back to the sport.”
The Motorama show runs March 11, 12 & 13 at The International Centre. The venue is located across the road from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Although Stoneridge Specialty Insurance has effectively, by name, only been in business for a year, the company’s heritage can be traced back to 2002 when Jones Brown Insurance – under the guidance of Stoneridge Managing Partner Kevin Besta – began offering the widest range of insurance products specifically designed to protect motorsports associations, facilities, teams, drivers and special event organizers.
Picking up the torch “by buying the book” from Jones Brown, Stoneridge Specialty now works closely with its clients to identify, measure and resolve all aspects of possible risks, and assist in managing ‘the total cost of risk.’
“Currently, we insure about 85 to 90% of all the race tracks in the country,” continued Besta. “We offer personal and liability coverage for anything you can put a motor in, and anywhere you can run it, from ovals and road courses, to drag strips and motocross tracks, to tractor pulls and boat races. It’s a niche market, but we cover the entire spectrum.”
Anyone involved in motorsports or the collector car culture will benefit from speaking with a Stoneridge Specialty Insurance representative at theMotorama show. Learning and recognizing unforeseen risks and taking action to avoid financial repercussions from unfortunate incidents can only help to ease any possible concerns.
“Protecting the motorsports industry is what we do. It’s all we do. Everything we offer is pretty affordable peace of mind,” concluded Besta.
Speaking about Stoneridge’s participation at Motorama, David Weber said, “That Stoneridge Specialty Insurance uses Motorama to connect with the industry is something we’re very proud of. Their support for the show and the Short Track and Drag Racing Night of Champions demonstrates their commitment to the racers, which we applaud and are very grateful for.”
