After thrilling fans last season, the Speed Energy Stadium Super Trucks Presented by Traxxas kicks off this season beginning with a trip to Adelaide, Australia.
In qualifying ahead of the first event, Robby Gordon would set the quickest time at one minute and 45.381 seconds. Gordon won the event overall last year after posting a pair of second place finishes.
Paul Morris was second quickest, seventh tenths behind Gordon’s quick time, followed by Sheldon Creed in third. Creed was quickest during the series’ first practice session. Matt Brabham and Toby Price rounded out the top-five.
Matt Mingay was sixth quickest after impressing fans last year with a third place overall finish in his fist career SST start, followed by Keegan Kincaid and Burt Jenner. Jenner hasn’t had the smoothest of weekends thus far, rolling the truck over during the second practice. The video can be watched by clicking here.
Greg Cartner was ninth quickest, followed by Rob Cowie, Robbie Pierce and Bill Hynes. As per series rules, though, the qualfying results will be reversed to set the starting grid, so Hynes will have the pole with Pierce beside him on the front row, while Gordon starts last.
