Coming off a very successful 25th Anniversary season in 2015, the drivers and teams in all OSCAAR divisions have been busy in the shops preparing for the 2016 season. With the temperatures starting to rise and the snow melting that can mean only one thing it is car show season!
This year OSCAAR is proud to be part of the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo taking place at the International Centre from March 11-13th. The drivers in all five divisions have been busy in the shop to have their cars ready for the fans, and they will not be disappointed in what they see.
Fans will want to stop by the OSCAAR booth to pick up their 2016 schedule and be able to get a close up look at the #27 Outlaw of Roy Passer. The Fitzpatrick Motorsports team has been busy in the shop since the last checker flag waved in 2015. This will be the perfect opportunity for fans to get a close up look at the craftsman ship it takes to put an Outlaw on the track each week. The OSCAAR Mods continue to grow and provide some of the best in open wheel racing during the season. AJ Emms is entering his sophomore season in the Mods and will debuting his new Mod for 2016. During the off season AJ made the decision to field his own team and purchased the former #14 of Davey Terry. 2016 Rookie of The Year contender #97 Rob DiVenanzo has spent the winter months preparing his Mod and will have it on display as well. The 2015 season introduced the great fans of OSCAAR to Midget racing, and the fans embraced the small but exciting racing action with open arms. Representing the series at the car show will be the beautifully prepared #43 of Randy Huisser, who has his eyes set on the 2016 OSCAAR Midget Championship.
During the very short off season, OSCAAR is very excited to welcome two new divisions to the OSCAAR name. Charles Priestly and a dedicated group of racers have long has a dream of having a suspended midget class. After months of hard work Charles and his group are very excited to debut the first OSCAAR Pro Midget this weekend at the car show. With over 15 drivers already registered for the 2016 season, The Pro Midget is destined to be a huge success.
In the past couple of months OSCAAR has been hard at work on another new series, The OSCAAR Hot Rod series. Fans of vintage body style of racing is going to love this class or racing. Teams will focus on body styles from 1949- 1974 brining back all those great racing memories that we all share. D’Aracy Gribbon has been burning the midnight oil to have his Dodge ready for to debut this weekend at the show. This car will be a show stopper for sure!
There are many interesting things happening throughout the weekend which is highlighted by The Short Track Night of Champions on Saturday March 12th. All three of OSCAAR champions will be on hand to have their accomplishments acknowledged and greet fans. OSCAAR does not have an official autograph session booked, but you can be assured that many drivers will be found walking the isles of the show and would all be more than happy to stop and speak to you.
