While on the way to Phoenix International Raceway this morning, the transporter carrying Sebastian Bourdais’ No.11 KVSH Racing Chevy along with the teams racing equipment caught fire.
They were able to extinguish the fire and tow the truck to the track where they did an extensive check to see just how much of the transporter was damaged and if any of the race equipment or the race cars were damaged.
Even though they are still assessing the damage KVSH team owner Jimmy Vasser now has confirmed that thankfully there was no injuries, and neither the race car nor the teams equipment has be damaged or compromised. He added that they will continue going about their preparations as normal for Saturday’s Phoenix Grand Prix.
Bourdais also shared the news via twitter, thankful his team members were alright. Bourdais finished 21st as a result of a crash at St. Petersburg.
Fire damage on the way to race2 but Stew and Phil did not get hurt, the car is fine, we will be good to go ! Thx. @KVSHRacing @TeamChevy

The KVSH team manager Steve Moore is now beginning the process of searching for a temporary transporter for the team so that they will have a place to work from during the race weekend as well as accessing to see if their damaged transporter can be repaired in time to be put right back into service to transport back to the shop and as well for the next upcoming race.
