After racing dirt for the past 16 years, Jordan Hanna will be making the transition to asphalt when he steps behind the wheel of an OSCAAR Pro Midget this season.
“It looks like a great new class that I would like to be a part of,” he said. “I enjoy speed and skilled drivers and I think we will put on a good show.”
With asphalt being a new experience, he adds that he’s excited to try all the different tracks on this year’s inaugural tour schedule.
“I am looking forward to the speed at some of the bigger tracks,” he added.
Going into the year, Hanna is shooting straight for the top, looking to get some victories over the course of the season.
“I’m hoping to get my kart setup the way I want it so we can take some checkers,” he said. “It’s a great kart and hoping it will be just as good on asphalt as it was dirt.”
For Hanna, his interest in racing began when he was 12 years old.
“My dad got me interested at 12 years old when he heard about it from a friend,” he said. “He has been the pit crew chief since day one and hasn’t missed a race.”
He started in a 6.5 hp junior kart at Nature’s Finest Speedway, before moving to Wonderland Speedway in a 440 when he was 16.
The OSCAAR Pro Midgets will kick off their inaugural season on May 28 at Peterborough Speedway.
