Charlie Kimball, driver of the No. 83 Tribesha Chevrolet, was looking to continue his momentum from the previous three races and get a good finish in the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.
He started the race in tenth position and steadily kept himself there all day to finish the race in ninth position. This is no surprise given Kimball’s history at Barber Motor Park where in the five races he raced there prior he finished in the top-10 three out of five.
This result was huge for Kimball also as last season didn’t really go that well. He had only three top-fives and five top-10 finishes last year. Compared to this year where he finished tenth at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, twelfth at the Diamond Desert West Valley Grand Prix of Phoenix and eleventh at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Kimball hopes to keep this momentum going into May for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for both the Indianapolis Grand Prix and the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500.
