Given this year is the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500, fans are certainly going to want to remember the event for years to come. Indianapolis Motor Speedway is helping fans do so by releasing a 320 page publication for fans to purchase for $25.00.
“The Indianapolis 500 program is one of the best souvenir programs in sports every year, and this year’s raises the bar as it celebrates our 100th Running, includes more stories and some really cool posters and keepsakes from this historic May,” Indianapolis Motor Speedway President J. Douglas Boles said. “As a kid, I couldn’t wait to get to my seat on Race Day and leaf through the program and then spend the rest of the year reading and rereading it and I know many of our fans will be doing the same thing with this one.”
The program will feature history on the Greatest Spectacle of Racing, dating all the way back to the first event in 1911, as well as features on Roger Penske, James Hinchcliffe, Holmatro Safety team and IMS Then & Now. Lastly, there will be a full-page profile on each Indy 500 through the years, as well as a profile on each of the current stars. For a limited time basis, the book will feature a free Hot Wheels 100th Running diecast.
Fans can purchase the book via Indianapolis Motor Speedway retail locations including the IMS Museum and Indianapolis International Airport store, as well as shop.IMS.com.
