(May 30, 2016)- With more than 30 registered drivers scheduled to join the fray, the Outlaw Midget Series is on track to take the popular motorsports brand to the next level and is slated to become the premier touring midget class in the province.
What originally began as a five race schedule at Sunset and Sauble Speedways, the inaugural campaign will now take on an global flavour with a pair of shows on the agenda for Holland International Speedway, in picturesque New York State. The 2016 schedule of eight events, presented by Larry’s Small Engines will find reigning midget division titlist Jody Bound looking to add another notch to his 5-point racing harness, while the tour’s hard chargers including Rob McCall, Robin McLean, Jessica James and James Rodgers will be out to capture the crown and earn the seat of honour at the championship table. A number of young lions will see series veterans fight hard for every checkered flag and position on the track. Fans can expect to see youthful runners like Zac Millman, Nigel Buttivant and Adam Tyo look for their time in the spotlight.
With a goal of creating a fast and economical series, Outlaw Midget racing machines run lap times that rival Limited Late Models, at a fraction of the cost. A turn-key set-up can take the track at a price range of anywhere from $3500 to $6500. An Outlaw Midget Series program is the affordable motorsports alternative, with no big haulers or expensive tools needed to run at the front of the pack. Using the same grade of gas as you put in the family sedan for a trip to the grocery store, Outlaw Midget racers burn about three gallons of fuel per event and a team will run an entire season with fewer than 10 tires.
