Slipping and sliding in the heat of the day resulted in a lot of handling issues for JL Motorsports on Friday night, ultimately resulting in not finishing as strong as hoped.
Latimer started off the evening by qualifying 16th with a time of 15.696 seconds for the first 35-lap feature. Making up some ground in the early stages, he was able to cross the finish line with a 15th place finish.
Starting 15th in the second 35-lap feature, he wasn’t able make much ground up early, causing the team to elect to bring Latimer down pit road with 12 laps to go under caution. It proved to be a good decision as he was up to 14th with three laps to go, ultimately crossing the line in the 11th position.
Be sure to join Latimer and JL Motorsports for the next night of racing on Saturday July 2.
