Simon Pagenaud, driver of the No. 22 Menards Team Penske Chevrolet, won the pole for the Iowa Corn 300 at Iowa Speedway, with the speed of 185.855.
Josef Newgarden and Helio Castroneves followed in second and third with the speeds of 185.639 (Newgarden) and 185.433 (Castroneves).
Max Chilton (185.419) and Charlie Kimball (184.489) concluded the top-five qualifying positions.
Tony Kanaan, Ed Carpenter, Will Power, Mikhail Aleshin and Scott Dixon rounded out the top-10 qualifying positions.
