Despite facing some adversity throughout the night, Zac Sprung came out with a top-10 finish at the end of the night.
Sprung started off the night at the front of the field, leading six laps in his first qualifying heat before fading back to third after a miscommunication with the team. He kept the momentum going in the second qualifier, ending up with a fourth place finish.
Come feature time, he once again started off strongly, leading eight laps to kick off the night. Unfortunately, contact happened as another car got into his left rear corner, sending him off the track’s exit ramp. Sprung quickly made his way back on track, though fell two laps down.
The determined racer never gave up, though, fighting to get back on the lead lap en route to a sixth place finish in the feature.
Sprung thanks his sponsors for their support: GBMS, Idol and Anchor Tattoo, Pro Sport Fan Shop, Harvey’s and Swiss Chalet of Owen Sound, Bear Wheel and Brake, Pinkertons CarQuest, MacDonnell Excavating, Tom Carruther’s Property Maintenance.
Be sure to make it out to Sauble Speedway to take in Sprung’s racing action. The full season schedule can be found at http://www.saublespeedway.ca.
