Six – time Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson was fastest during Saturday Morning’s Sprint Cup practice at Homestead – Miami Speedway.
Johnson ran a quick lap of 30.973 seconds (174.345 MPH). Johnson’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott was second with a lap of 173.332 MPH.
Carl Edwards was third followed by: Trevor Bayne and Ryan Blaney.
Joey Logano, Martin Truex Jr., Jamie McMurray, Ryan Newman, and AJ Allmendinger rounded out the top ten on the speed chart.
Notables include: Matt Kenseth 11th, Austin Dillon 14th, Denny Hamlin 16th, Kurt Busch 19th, Kevin Harvick 20th, Brad Keselowski 22nd, Kyle Larson 25th, and Kyle Busch 28th.
