Mother Nature hasn’t been too kind to NASCAR fans over the past few weeks.
Rain tortured fans during last week’s NASCAR XFINITY Series weekend at Daytona International Speedway, and it continued to plague the series as they traveled to Kentucky Speedway.
Both of yesterday’s scheduled practice sessions were rained out before being pushed back to earlier this morning.
The day went as scheduled, despite rain threatening the speedway all day. As cars made their way on track for qualifying, all three rounds of the session were completed. Kyle Busch scored the pole, but shortly after Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series qualifying, NASCAR made the decision to postpone the race due to severe weather in the area throughout the night.
Busch will start first for the race that will take place at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday. His teammate Erik Jones qualified second followed by Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano and William Byron.
