Derrike Cope’s spent a few weeks away from the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series garage after departing from Premium Motorsports after the race at Richmond Raceway, but the former Daytona 500 winner will be back in action this weekend.
Cope will return the series driving for a brand new team called StarCom Racing. Cope will pilot the No. 00 StarCom Fiber Chevrolet in the team’s debut.

Cope parted ways with Premium Motorsports after running 13 of the first 26 races this season. In those 13 starts, the 58-year-old scored a best finish of 31st twice.
The Spanaway, Washington native will get to make his return to the series at Dover International Speedway, a track he holds dear to his heart. Cope got his second and final Cup Series win at Dover in 1990, the same year he won the Daytona 500.
Good ? luck.? ????✅
