LUCAMA, NC – Veteran racer “Shotgun” Ryan Miller will be returning to racing to compete in the Charger division at Southern National Motorsports Park in 2018, beginning with Saturday’s Dogwood 265 presented by Solid Rock Carriers.
The 29-year-old from New Hill, North Carolina is a former competitor in the now-defunct UARA-STARS Tour as well as at Orange County Speedway and Wake County Speedway. This weekend will be Miller’s first race in four years and his first start at Southern National Motorsports Park since September 2006.
“It’s pretty exciting to get back in the racecar to say the least,” Miller said. “My buddy and crew-chief, Scott, he’s helping me out this year. He’s helped me out and always been my crew-chief. He’s been the backbone of this team. Just excited to be back on track and hopefully we can have some fun this year.”
Miller’s main goal on Saturday is to bring the car home in one piece and have fun.
“I think our goal is to come out, have fun, finish the race and keep our nose clean.”
Miller plans to run the full season in the Charger division at Southern National Motorsports Park, assuming things go well on Saturday.
The Dogwood 265 presented by Solid Rock Carriers, headlined by a 150-lap Late Model Stock Car race, will also feature the Charger division as well as Mini-Stock and Bandolero racing. Qualifying will commence at 12:45pm and the green flag will fly at 2pm.
