Fresh off a win at Bristol Motor Speedway, Brett Moffitt arguably comes into Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with the most momentum of the drivers in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. He continued that momentum by scoring pole in the Chevrolet Silverado 250.
Moffitt took the top spot over Todd Gilliland, who has also shown a lot of speed this weekend, with a fast lap of 79.842 seconds. The pole marked Moffitt’s third of the season.
Ross Chastain qualified third followed by Canadian Alex Tagliani in fourth and Ben Rhodes in fifth. Austin Hill, Harrison Burton, Tyler Ankrum, Raphael Lessard and Matt Crafton rounded out the top-10 drivers. A pair of Canadians, Gary Klutt and Stewart Friesen closed out the front 12 drivers.
Of the eight playoff drivers, only Johnny Sauter and Grant Enfinger managed to qualify outside the top-12. The ThorSport Racing teammates will start 13th and 14th.
Three other Canadians join the first four in the race. D.J. Kennington will start 15th, Jason White starts 19th and Dan Corcoran will roll off from 22nd.
The Chevrolet Silverado 250 will kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET.
