WelderUp owner / Vegas Rat Rods star will be there all three days of the show!
TORONTO, ON // NOVEMBER 18, 2015 • Steve Darnell has skyrocketed to prominence in the world of custom cars. In a relatively short period of time, his unique automotive creations have attracted huge crowds and acclaim at industry shows like SEMA. And in recent years, he’s garnered worldwide attention via the television showVegas Rat Rods, which documents day-to-day life at Darnell’s busy Las Vegas-based WelderUp Hot Rod & Fab Shop.
Fans attending the upcoming Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo will have an opportunity to meet Steve Darnell in person as he participates in daily autograph sessions, on-stage discussions about WelderUp, and shares his passion for his ‘rolling works of art’ with fans who attend the show.
Darnell will be on hand for all three days of Toronto’s Motorama show, spending time with Canadian automotive and racing enthusiasts. The event takes place March 11, 12 & 13 (2016) at the International Centre, across from Pearson Airport.
“It’s amazing how many people from Canada know about WelderUp and the TV show,” said Steve Darnell, at the recent SEMA show in Las Vegas. “A large percentage of the people who come to visit WelderUp are from Canada, so I’m looking forward to meeting a lot more of them at the Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo next March in Toronto.”
Darnell, a former rancher from Montana, has made a big impact on the ‘rat rod’ scene with his amazing vehicles and colourful personality. Somewhat of a rebel in the industry, he prides himself on building cars that don’t look like anything you’ll find in someone’s driveway, or even at a traditional hot rod show.
“After touring WelderUp, we ran into Steve at the SEMA show,” said Motorama’s Greg MacPherson. “The cars he builds are incredible. And it takes about 10 seconds of being around him to realize he’s passionate about his creations and has a really outgoing personality… the same as you see on every episode of Vegas Rat Rods. On behalf of all of us at Motorama, we’re very excited that Steve Darnell is coming to Motorama. I know our showgoers are going to have a lot of fun meeting him.”
