Mobile Alabama’s Max Force Racing is expanding its stable to two ARCA teams starting with the season opener in Daytona.
ARCA Veteran Brad Smith will team up with Thomas “Moose” Praytor for the Lucas Oil 200 on February 13th at Daytona International Speedway. Smith will be driving the Max Force Racing #23.
“This is a great opportunity for me to get back behind the wheel and get back to racing,” said Smith. “Tommy and I have been friends for years and Thomas and I were teammates at Hixson’s, I really appreciate them making this possible.”
Smith’s return to racing after a brutal crash at Talladega is one of racing’s best feel good stories for 2016.
A long hospital stay was followed by skin graphs and months of physical therapy. When possible, Smith was at the track in a two wheel device keeping the pressure off the most heavily damaged leg allowing it to heal.
“Being focused on getting back in the car gave me goal and it also made it frustrating that I wasn’t back in the car sooner,” offered Smith.
Over his 22 year ARCA career Smith has 271 starts compiling over 27,000 miles behind the wheel.
“Starting a second team is a big undertaking for our race team and we wanted a veteran with a solid history behind the wheel for us in Daytona,” added Tommy Praytor. “We’re happy that a driver with Brad’s experience was available for our first start.”
Thomas “Moose” Praytor, Brad Smith and the DK-LOK team will be opening at Daytona International Speedway on February 13th to the start the 2016 ARCA season.
