The feel good story of the NASCAR XFINITY Series will continue this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway after Kaz Grala and Fury Race Cars snagged a pair of new sponsors for the race.
New partner IT Coalition and long-time partner Kiklos Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil have teamed up to help the team owned by Darius Grala, Tony Eury Jr. and Jeff Fultz to continue racing past Michigan International Speedway, which was the team’s last of four scheduled starts.
“I am so excited to continue our streak with Fury Race Cars this weekend. I can’t thank Kiklos and IT Coalition enough for stepping up in a time when we needed it most to be able to make it to the racetrack. We debuted on a mile-and-a-half track about a month ago and picked up a top-10 finish, so I feel great about our program going into Chicagoland,” Grala said in a team release.
Grala started the 2018 race season with JGL Racing, but when the team opted to downsize prior to Charlotte Motor Speedway, he was the odd man out.
A few off weekends for the XFINITY Series allowed Fury Race Cars to begin preparing for a four-race run with sponsor NETTTS and Grala. In that four-race stretch, Grala and the team managed two top-10 finishes and have steadily moved up in the points standings.
“We’re getting very close to the driver Playoff bubble and to the top-30 in owner points, which would be huge milestones for our company. Not only are we hungry to make our sponsors proud this weekend, but another solid performance could move us one step closer to our championship aspirations,” he said.
Crew chief Shane Wilson will continue to work with Fury Race Cars and Grala. He’s been the crew chief for Grala in all 14 races this season.
