NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series rookie Tyler Dippel has been suspended by NASCAR ahead of the weekend’s race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Dippel was suspended for violating the Member Conduct Guidelines of the NASCAR Rule Book.
The driver of the No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet violated Section 12.1 of the NASCAR Rule Book, a behavioral penalty for “actions detrimental to stock car racing,” according to a NASCAR spokesperson. It’s not yet clear exactly what the behavioral issue was.
Dippel was slated to drive the No. 02 this weekend in Canada. No replacement driver for his truck has been named. Dippel currently sits 13th in points. He has one top-five finish and three top-10 finishes in 2019.
