HEPWORTH, ON- Two weeks removed from his 4th place finish in the season opener for the OSCAAR Super Late Model tour, Andrew Gresel has set his sights on the tour’s return to Kawartha Speedway.
“I can’t wait to get back to Kawartha”, said Gresel as his Sauble Falls Racing team worked to put the finishing touches on their No. 81. “Kawartha’s one of our strongest tracks. We’ve got a fantastic ‘big track’ program and I look forward to heading back there”
Gresel dominated the tour’s visit to Kawartha in 2013, leading every single lap in his most impressive tour appearance to date.
“Kawartha is one of the fondest memories of my career”, explained Gresel. “I think that was the race in which our team really established ourselves on the tour. Our team worked so hard putting this car together last season and Kawartha was when we really got to see it pay off”
Gresel has committed to running the entirety of the 2014 tour, and with only 12 points paying events on the schedule, is well aware of how important each race is.
“With all the talent on this tour, you have to approach every race like it’s the most important of your career”, said Gresel. “You can’t take a lap off. You have to try and get as close to perfect every time out of the hauler”
“Our team is heading into Kawartha looking to repeat what we did last season”, continued Gresel. “I feel as though we have a championship caliber program, we just have to put it all together to seal the deal”
