Nationwide Series driver, Nelson Piquet Jr., has been penalized for using an anti-gay slur on social media. NASCAR SR VP of racing operations stated, “Nelson Piquet Jr. recently communicated an offensive and derogatory term that cannot be tolerated in our sport.” Piquet was fined $10,000 and is required to participate in sensitivity training.
