Organizers for the Honda Indy Toronto have announced the support-series line-up for the 2014 event which takes place from July 18th to July 20th.
The event’s feature event will be the pair of full-points IndyCar Series races that headline the weekend. However, the support series line-up is a close second.
After a popular debut in 2013, Robby Gordon’s SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks will return. The series features high-powered off-road trucks racing side-by-side on the challenging street course that includes jumps and tight corners.
Also, the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin will hit the streets of Toronto for the first time. The series features semi-professional drivers racing in one of the largest single-make series in North America.
“From start to finish, the on-track excitement will have fans on the edge of their seats this summer,” Charlie Johnstone, President of the Honda Indy Toronto, said. “The team here has been very busy securing a top-notch schedule that will cater to everyone, heighten the excitement and let our fans know how much we truly appreciate them.”
Also returning will be the Acura Sports Car Challenge featuring the Pirelli World Challenge.
Lastly, Honda Indy Toronto will celebrate drivers getting their start in open-wheel by featuring Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship and, another new addition, the Formula 1600 Series.
