The 2014 Canadian Motorsports Expo is used as a kick-start to the race season for fans across Ontario. The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is taking full advantage of that as they have plenty announcements in store.
Alex Tagliani officially unveiled his No. 18 Team EpiPen Dodge as he shifts from open wheel to the tight quarters of Canadian stock car racing. Tagliani will run the full schedule for DJK Racing.
“As someone with a severe allergy to peanuts and tree nuts, I am extremely happy to once again be teaming up with Pfizer Canada and Anaphylaxis Canada to raise awareness of food allergies and anaphylaxis,” Alex Tagliani said at today’s announcement. “I’m looking forward to an exciting summer of racing with the NASCAR Canadian Tire series and meeting fans right across Canada.”
Tagliani will be on stage on Saturday February 8th at noon EST to speak about his new ride.
Jason Hathaway also unveiled his new look for 2014 as he will switch from Dodge to Chevrolet. Last year, Hathaway finished third in points after winning a pair of races.
Also on Saturday, Micks Motorsports will start to wrap the No. 02 Ford starting at 1:30 pm with the car’s 2014 colors. Once again, Mark Dilley and Kerry Micks will split driving duties.
NASCAR will also host a driver information session in the seminar room at 3:30 pm to speak with drivers and teams interested in getting involved in the series.
More news will continue to be dropped on Sunday February 9th as multiple drivers in the series will take to the stage from 11:45 am till 12:15 pm.
One of those drivers is 2013 Series Champion Scott Steckly, who has an announcement to make surrounding the upcoming race season.
Throughout the whole weekend, fans are welcomed to stop by the NCAT booth and check out Tagliani, Hathaway, Micks and Steckly’s cars, as well as the No. 5 Dodge of Noel Dowler and the No. 25 driven by Joey McColm. Also, No. 17 Castrol Dodge of two-time NCATS champion DJ Kennington will be at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park booth while the No. 47 driven by Louis-Philippe Dumoulin will be on display at the Eibach Canada booth.
