Eric Yorke ran upfront all feature long at Sunset Speedway on his way to finishing sixth in the season opening Spring Derby 35.
Yorke kicked off the afternoon by finishing second in his only qualifying heat of the afternoon, resulting in a fourth place starting spot after the seven car invert. When the green flag flew, York didn’t stay fourth long as he quickly moved his way into second behind Kevin Bridge before the first caution at lap three for Stefan Woyslaw stalling on the track.
On the restart, Yorke would quickly make his way to the lead and held it for four laps before being passed back by Bridge for the lead. Yorke would then fall back to fourth in the couple of laps that followed as Miles Tyson and Andy Kamrath began their charge to the front.
As he weaved through the lap traffic, Yorke spent the longest time holding off the charge from both Warren Paxton and Brandon McFerran for fourth. Though in the end, the pair would get by, resulting in Yorke scoring a sixth place finish in the 35 lap feature.
