BROOKLYN, Mich. (May 13, 2014) – The McDonald’s Rock and Race Concert will feature Saints of Valory and IAMDYNAMITE at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday, June 14.
Saints of Valory from Austin, Texas, will headline the free and always popular post-race concert in Lot 10. The show will begin shortly after the NASCAR Nationwide Series race.
The concert is free to anyone with a Nationwide Series race ticket, an infield wristband or an APEX wristband.
IAMDYNAMITE, the rising Michigan-native rock duo, will open the concert and hand it off to Saints of Valory.
“The NASCAR races have really become a week-long festival and everyone knows great music is a part of any great party,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “We try to offer different kinds of music for our fans at the McDonald’s Rock and Race concert and I guarantee this June will rock. I’ve seen both of these bands live and I was blown away by their energy. Plus, it’s great to be featuring a band from Detroit at MIS.”
Saints of Valory is a band that swings for the bleachers, crafting dramatic, sweeping, arena-ready rock filled with elegant pop hooks, shimmering guitars and emotionally genuine lyrics. Songs like the rhythmically charged “Kids,” “Long Time Coming,” and “Neon Eyes” are widescreen in scope, announcing the considerable ambition of these self-assured newcomers as they gear up for the release of their second Extended Play, titled “V”, due out May 20.
IAMDYNAMITE from Detroit is the spirited, anthemic noise duo of Christopher Martin (guitar, vocals) and Chris Phillips (drums, vocals), two Michigan high school friends raised on the Seattle sound and 80s pop.
They have been touring the U.S. consistently since 2008, and have been selling out headlining club dates. On the strength of their music alone, IAMDYNAMITE has fought their way to the U.S. Top 40 Modern Rock chart for more than four months (and counting). Their video for “Where Will We Go” has reached close to 350,000 views in less than a year.
The Nationwide Series is at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. The concert will begin shortly after the checkered flag that afternoon.
Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is NASCAR’s fastest track and the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie. It’s the love of racing and the thrill of a great time for race fans and drivers alike.
