MILLVILLE, NJ — Andrew Ranger picked up where he left off last year at New Jersey Motorsports Park by winning the pole for Sunday’s ARCA Great Railing 150.
The Canadian driver was nearly two seconds faster than second-place qualifier Justin Boston.
Ranger put down a sub-80 second lap, setting a new track record with a speed of 101.982 mph.
“I try everything actually,” Ranger said. “We have a pretty good car and we started right on practice with P1 and the guys work really hard and I’m really glad to race again for them this year.
He will look to continue his dominance at NJMP on Sunday in quest for his four straight win there and doesn’t have a favorite part of the 2.25 mile road course.
“I think it’s more all-around the track. It’s beautiful here and I really like it.”
The Canadian’s worst finish in six ARCA starts is a fifth at Chicagoland Speedway in June 2011.
