MILLVILLE, NJ –Michael DiMeo’s weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) can be described in one word.
Perfect.
The rookie driver led flag-to-flag in both races on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, picking up the overall and Tour Class (TC) division wins.
Both victories were his fifth and sixth straight in the Pirelli World Challenge Series.
“A lot of dedication,” DiMeo said about his success this season. “My first full year in sports cars so my focus is completely doing well and getting in the car and winning races.
It doesn’t only apply to his two wins this weekend at NJMP.
“That’s day in and out,” he added. “When I wake up in the morning to when I go to bed, that’s what I thinking about. That’s what I’m striving to do.”
DiMeo wasn’t the only driver to sweep both races, as Shea Holbrook did the same in the Touring Car A (TCA) division.
Brian Price took the win in the Touring B-spec (TCB) division on Saturday and Tyler Palmer grabbed the victory on Sunday after finishing runner-up to Price the day before.
