On Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Brandon McFerran seized the opportunity as he picked up his second straight feature victory of the 2014 season in the Graham Landscape Mini Stock division.
Miles Tyson and Ben Melenhorst were racing for the lead, when the pair would make contact. McFerran would slip by them both and grab the victory behind the wheel of his No. 64 Peter D Laird, Meisner Construction, Road Ranger, Finish Line Painting and Restoring, absoluteWedsite.com, Epic Race Wear, Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park, Fast Eddie Race Wear, NRD Bi Products, and DS Mclure farms Mustang. It marks McFerran’s fifth top five finish in six features this season.
Ben Melenhorst would finish second for his first top five finish of the 2014 season. Rookie Jordan Howse finished third for his best career feature finish and second straight top five. Samantha Shaw finished fourth for her second straight top five finish of the season. Billy Melenhorst rounded out the top five for his third straight top-five finish.
Tyson would end up 11th after contact due to a flat tire.
Rookie Lauren Halliday’s string of successful finishes came to an end when she spun in turn two, collecting Kendra Adam and Shawn Gerrior as neither had nowhere to go.
The Mini Stocks are set to race again this coming weekend on June 14th, and will be joined by the Sauble Falls Tent and Trailer Park Late Models and Super Stocks.
