Racing side-by-side around a short track – no matter the size – is always entertaining. The side-by-side action that takes place always draws the attention of all the fans. From the contact to close finishes, it’s what draws every fan to come and watch the action.
Though sometimes, an added bonus can heighten the show and for Full Throttle Motor Speedway, the Crazy Trains do that with their unique form of racing.
One car going around the track racing side-by-side with another is fun, right? So what happens when you attached three cars together with a chain and have them race side-by-side with other cars attached together? The excitement and entertainment that the fans feel while watching goes up to a octave.
On Friday night at FTMS, that is exactly what happened as fans watched five trains battle side-by-side for positions. And they didn’t just run side-by-side as the action was taken to a whole level with contact being made. From contact between trains to cars getting sideways in a train due to being out of control had everybody intrigued as to who’d win and who’d survive.
Survival…..that’s a big key as even when a car has a flat tire or loses a wheel and just riding around on the rim, the trains don’t stop. Everything keeps going as they continue to battle for positions.
Of course, the second race is perhaps the most memorable of the night as ‘Here We Go’ ran into the back of another train on the first lap, popping up on the hood on the lead car. No fear, though, as they kept going and despite the front car not being able to see, they kept running the bottom groove, passing other trains, and grabbed the win. To the one with the guts and drivability goes the glory, right?
Building up a show on Friday nights can be tough due to people being at work all day and having a tight schedule to get home, get the car loaded and bring hte car out. It’s also tough on fans for the same type of reason. Though having an added unique bonus to the show can certainly help with attracting fans. For this race fan, this was certainly a great entertainment value for Friday night.
